If I am absent, my students will practice reading and analyzing complex texts on Read Theory.
Plan A - ELAGSE11-12RL1: Cite strong and thorough textual evidence to support analysis of what the text says explicitly as well as inferences drawn from the text, including determining where the text leaves matters uncertain.
The students will go to the website: www.readtheory.org
The students have their unique usernames
The password for all students is gipson77
The students will read complex texts and answer the text-dependent questions that follow until their Lexile indicates 12th grade reading level or higher.
Plan B - ELAGSE11-12L1: Demonstrate command of the conventions of Standard English grammar and usage when writing or speaking.
*If technology fails, or students do not have devices, my students will create the following sentences on paper:
25 original complex sentences (1 subordinate clause, 1 comma, & 1 independent clause per sentence)
25 original compound-complex sentences (1 subordinate clause, 1 or 2 commas, 2 independent clauses, and 1 coordinating conjunction per sentence)
