The acronym R.I.S.E. stands for Re-teaching, Instructional Support, and Enrichment. It is dedicated time made by each teacher on a weekly basis for students to receive additional support to help achieve content mastery. Alpharetta High School highly recommends all students to attend RISE sessions when their cumulative numeric average is below 74 or when the student earns a 79 or below on a specific major assignment or assessment. My RISE hours are on Wednesdays from 7:45AM until 8:15AM or by appointment.
Recovery - All students who receive a 79 or below on a specific major assignment or assessment will have one opportunity each nine weeks to retake the aforementioned major assignment or assessment. However, students are eligible to earn a replacement grade on a redo/retake no higher than a grade of 75. Student redo/retakes must be completed before the next major assignment or assessment is given or five days before the end of a marking period if there is not another major assignment or assessment given (exceptions can be made for students who have excused absences during the five-day window). Per PLC agreement, students will receive 25 points deducted from assignments submitted late. Students have 10 school days (from the due date) to submit late assignments in order to receive partial credit.
Remember - I am here to help you graduate...on time!
