About me:

Greetings!

First and foremost, I am elated to be here! I will serve as your quintessential educator, facilitator, and advocate. I have been teaching English language arts, Gifted, ESOL, and special education for over 12 years. I graduated from Cambridge College, which is located in Cambridge, Massachusetts with a master's degree in education. I earned my educational leadership endorsement from the University of West Georgia, and I have a second master's degree in organizational management from the University of Phoenix.
According to the state of Georgia Professional Standards Commission, I am highly qualified to teach high school English language arts, English as an official second language (ESOL), Gifted Education on all grade levels, and Special Education on all grade levels. I am also a proud recipient of the National Dean's List Award.

Prior to becoming an educator, I served in the following career capacities: flight attendant for Delta Airlines, tax examiner for the IRS (Internal Revenue Service), real estate agent for Crye-Leike Realtors, and mayoral appointee for the mayor of Memphis, Tennessee.  I absolutely loved all of them, but becoming an educator was a divine calling! Fast forward, I now live in Alpharetta, GA., and I consider the environment my utopia. In my spare time, I enjoy the simple things in life: reading a book, walking in the park, and attending sporting events. My former students would describe me as a serious teacher...  fair, but firm. The vast majority return later in life to thank me for teaching them on a real-world, relevant, and rigorous level. It is imperative for me to create partnerships with all parents and guardians, so yes, I will provide two-way communication for them on day one. In essence, I absolutely love parental engagement!
